dukeWe had the kick-off party for the Our World Project this past weekend. All we can say is wow! The kids had a great time meeting each other, taking photos with REAL cameras, and getting to know the Duke University rowing team. They were beyond thrilled when the college kids came to help the kids take photos. Each Our World Project participant had three rowers helping them take photos, play with them and show them so much attention. The kids LOVED it! Their photos are now being reviewed and the final pics will be revealed in our next playdate – Friday, January 12th at Longwood Park from 4:30-6PM.

We are also participating in the Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade in Sarasota. Anyone who would like to can join us! Learn more here.

Lakewood Ranch Community Activities honored SUGAR with an award at their Volunteer Appreciation night. We were thankful to receive the “Most Club Participation” award! Our participation is only going up this year! We hope to see you all join us at their events in 2018.

And speaking of participation around our community, we will be at The Market this upcoming Wednesday. Our booth will be making knot chew toys for the dogs at Nate’s. Extra special thanks to Keith at Lakewood Ranch Community Activities for providing us with the supplies for this activity!

Lucky’s Market is running a poll to find out who will receive next quarter’s Bags for Change donations. The three organizations who receive the most votes will be selected as next quarter’s recipients, and we would love to see Second Chance Last Opportunity be one of those!
