We loved seeing so many of you stop by our booth this past weekend at the Irish Fest. It was wonderful to catch up with some of our volunteers as well as meet some future ones. On Sunday, we hosted an event with Alliance for Kids and the turnout was fantastic. Alliance For Kids is an organization that helps create wonderful kits to give children who have been admitted into the hospital something to do during their stay. The kit includes a book, coloring pages and crayons and a stuffed animal monkey that they get to stuff themselves, Build-A-Bear style. If you ever get a chance, please check out their organization. They do far more than I can explain. Our volunteers were thrilled to have the opportunity to help with the stuffed monkey kits. The most touching moment was when our volunteers got to sign the “donated line” on the monkey’s adoption form. It made it extra special that they got the chance to let the child who would be receiving the monkey see who put the kit together.
